The People's Center Gift Shop, Museum Gallery & Native Ed-Ventures

Our spotlight is shining on the People’s Center, which is the visitor center for the Confederated Salish, Kootenai and Pend D'Oreille Indians of the Flathead reservation. The Center highlights an interactive museum, a well-supplied gift and bead shop with authentic local beadwork items, along with other venues of native art and a large outdoor area with a dance arbor.

The People’s Center was created to educate the general public and tribal members of the histories and cultures of the Salish, Kootenai and Pend D’Oreille tribes of the Flathead reservation by the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes.

The People's Center recently served as the host site for the Montana Tribal Tourism Alliance's first Gathering of Artists - An Arts & Crafts Fair Showcasing Montana's American Indian Artisans, which was held on July 16-17, 2004.  They sure treated us great and we completely enjoyed the time that we spent with the wonderful staff and community.  Hundreds of visitors came to enjoy and purchase Montana's American Indian-made artworks making the event a great success.
